Make a list of accounts and assets
SecureKeep can put every account and asset in a vault on one list, with rough values and where the paperwork is, so probate forms take an evening instead of weeks.
-
If you're the owner, add the details now
Open a password, tap For your executor and add a rough value, the currency, who owns it, any nominee and where the paperwork is. Add a safe deposit box, a deed or a safe under Where things are.
-
Open the list
In Settings, open Share Vault Access and tap Make a list of accounts and assets, under For your executor. If a vault was handed to you, it's also on the Start here page.
-
Check what's on it
Every bank and insurance password is listed, plus any other password with details, every place under Where things are, and any will, property, insurance or power of attorney document. Rough totals are shown for each currency.
-
Export it
Tap Export CSV for a spreadsheet or Export PDF for a printable table, read the warning, then share or save the file. SecureKeep deletes its own copy as soon as you're done.
-
Use it for the forms
Copy the values into the probate or succession forms, and check each one with the bank or a valuer. A rough number is fine on the list, but the forms may need exact ones.
Good to know
- General guidance, not legal advice. Check with the organisation or a lawyer.
- This file won't be encrypted. Anyone who gets it can read it.
If it doesn't work
- An account I expected is missing
- Only bank and insurance passwords are listed on their own. Open any other password, add a rough value or a nominee under For your executor, and it joins the list.
- A value isn't in the total
- Totals add plain numbers only, like 12,500. Change words such as about 10k to a number.
- Two currencies aren't added together
- That's on purpose. Each currency gets its own total.
- A value starts with an apostrophe in the spreadsheet
- Values that start with =, +, - or @ get a ' in front, so a spreadsheet can't run them as formulas. Delete it if you need to.
- It says some items couldn't be read
- Those items couldn't be decrypted, so they're left off. If it keeps happening, restore the vault from a recent backup.
